What is Aqualyx?

Aqualyx is a gel-based water solution, which dissolves fat and is bio-degradable.

Aqualyx acts as a fat dissolving treatment that targets fat removal from certain areas. Its main use is to tackle excess fat in stubborn areas.

Aqualyx has been developed as a non-surgical alternative to liposuction, which can target fatty areas that just don’t want to budge. That’s when Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections can help.

Aqualyx is NOT a weight-loss treatment.

Fat Dissolving Injections

How Does Aqualyx Work?

It works by sticking to localised fatty deposits under the skin, breaking them down over a period of time. The fat is then naturally dissolved and flushed out by the body.

It liquefies the fat cell, destroying it permanently, releasing the lipids, which are then eliminated naturally through the lymphatic system.

Results are effective, quick, and minimally invasive.

Which Areas Can Be Treated?

Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections can be used to treat almost all small deposits of fat, but the most popular treatment areas include:

Chin, Stomach, Thighs, Arms, Saddle bags and Knees

How Many Sessions Are Required?

The amount of treatments varies according to the desired degree of results, the dimensions of the fat deposit and the individual reactions of the fat tissue.

Typically two treatments are required for each area. Partially fibrous fatty areas may need a 3rd appointment with a 3-week interval. This can be assessed on consultation.

A treatment with Aqualyx does not result in weight loss. Healthy nutrition as well as an exercise regime is an absolute necessity to ensure success of the treatment.

What Does The Treatment Involve?

Aqualyx is administered directly into the subcutaneous fat tissues using thin, flexible needle.

The treatment is virtually pain free, as fat tissue is almost free of sensation and Aqualyx contains an additional local anaesthetic.

Massage will be applied onto the treated area for about 10 minutes.  After the treatment the affected area may redden and swell to a slight degree.  As with any treatment with a hypodermic needle, minor bruising and swelling might develop.  All these are expected side effects that will disappear within a couple of days after the treatment.

Aftercare

Avoid all direct sources of heat sunlight, sunbeds, hot tubs, sauna etc.

Abstain from particularly demanding physical exercise for 7 days.

As the released fatty acids are converted into additional energy, it is especially important that you keep a strict and healthy diet, otherwise your body will simply store the fat in an alternative fat deposit.

When Is The Treatment With Aqualyx Not Recommended?

It is not recommended when the patient is suffering from acute or chronic skin disease in the affected area.  For safety reasons all patients with a medical history including anaphylactic reactions, severe allergies, severe organic or physical illnesses, auto-immune diseases or diabetes, as well as women who are pregnant or breast feeding are excluded from any treatment with Aqualyx.
